This is like discovering a whole new branch of an extended family.
First of all I have to apologise to some of you. With the launch of the new Photoshop book and the flurry of new subscribers that resulted, I took the opportunity to revamp my newsletter list - and lo and behold, I discovered a whole stream of subscribers who had fallen into a black hole! (Don't ask how it happened...)
So sorry guys and gals. For you, I guess this is your first newsletter. And for the rest, you'll see the revamped look to match the new website.

new tutorial
I've uploaded a new video tutorial for Illustrator. You can see it here.
This one takes a few simple techniques and combines them into some accurate and spectacular icons. I've demonstrated this technique to classes before, and not once have I failed to elicit an 'ooh' or an 'ahh'. Yet as you will see it's almost child's play.
Latest on the new book
The Logo Handbook is moving along nicely. For you new subscribers, this is a complete, from start-to-finish, step-by-step manual on creating logos. It starts with the theory behind the design of logos and goes right through to vector techniques for the specifics, including such vital steps as receiving and interpreting a brief, researching a name and presenting the final result to the client.
The book is about three-quarters finished and should launch mid-year. You, my subscribers, will get advance notice, and some will be offered advance free copies for review.
